What is Plautdietsch?

Plautdietsch is a Low German dialect with roots in the Vistula Delta region. It traveled with Mennonite communities through Russia, into the prairies of Canada, the colonies of Mexico, and beyond. It's a living language — spoken at kitchen tables, in fields, and between generations.
